haus und hof is a retreat for days without hurry. For mornings with a long view, and evenings when real quiet is allowed to settle in.

a counterpoint. designed with love.
Behind haus und hof are Magdalena and David. Two hosts who have brought their love of architecture, design, and hospitality into this house. Their intention was clear from the very start: to create a place that radiates calm, that settles into the landscape, and where guests truly arrive.
The design concept connects people and nature. Architecture and interiors are deliberately pared back and quietly timeless. Built gently into the hill, the black timber façade all but disappears into the landscape. Only on a second look does the clear language of the house reveal itself.
The quality of a stay lies in the detail. Understated refinement, high-quality materials, and consciously chosen natural fabrics shape the soul of the apartments. Dark wall tones set a calm contrast to the green outside and create space with an atmosphere of their own.

haus und hof is an inspiring retreat — one you’ll want to return to again and again.

haus und hof is a deliberate alternative to conventional tourism. A small, regionally rooted family business with a quiet sense of design. With an open door and real regard for nature, for people, and for one another.
The idea grew from a conviction: not to run tourism the usual way. „Faster, higher, further and always more“ is something Magdalena and David simply can’t identify with. They believe in places that make people feel better. That’s exactly what haus und hof is meant to be — an alternative to a kind of tourism that measures its guests in numbers.
Magdalena and David hold this place especially dear: quietly set, surrounded by nature – and at the same time full of possibilities for outings, hikes, and cultural days in Salzburg.
A setting that brings together nature, quiet, and special moments in the ideal way. In the heart of the Salzkammergut.
Rooms that radiate calm and deliberately leave space for what matters.

haus und hof is a place for people who travel mindfully…

…and who are looking for a stay that feels personal, quiet, and honest

architecture in harmony with its place
Clear forms, natural materials, and rooms that hold back – so that nature and light can do their work.
Architecture in harmony with its place. The apartments sit at the forest’s edge on a quiet road in Hof bei Salzburg – between lakes and mountains. Architecture plays an important role here, but without grand gestures. The design is deliberately calm and reduced. Large glazed surfaces draw light and nature into the rooms; natural materials bring a warm atmosphere.
Precisely because the house has no wish to be loud, it stands out. Through its clarity, its atmosphere, and its care for detail.
Natural materials, dark tones, and reduced forms shape the apartments.

architecture and design
For the architectural realisation, Magdalena and David brought the architecture studio Feuersinger to their side. From the outset they shared the same vision: architecture that fits into its place and stays timeless.
Each apartment was carefully planned and shaped with real attention. Every decision was made deliberately. This applies equally to materials, furniture and details.
Designer pieces from Prostoria, Jan Kurtz, and Moormann round out the calm of the rooms.
Timeless architecture, high-quality materials, and rooms that are deliberately pared back.
nature. region. people. this is why haus und hof.
Magdalena and David see it every day – how well architecture, nature, and hospitality come together here. When design and attitude are in tune, a place emerges that lets people grow calmer – more at ease, freer, and yes, perhaps a little happier too. And that is exactly what haus und hof is for.

regional. mindful. connected.
As much as possible, the value created here should stay in the region – with the craft, the raw materials, and, not least, the people.
For Magdalena and David, doing business also means taking responsibility – ecologically and socially. That’s why they choose regional products and partners with intention, right down to the furnishings.
attentive. conscious. sustainable.
Gentle tourism and sustainability. For Magdalena and David, it isn’t about growth at any cost, but about a business that stays true to itself. Of course the numbers have to work – but they’re never the point. When haus und hof grows, it grows in depth: with care, strong partnerships, and a fine feel for the house. Gentle tourism, to them, means keeping places whole and inviting guests to experience them mindfully.

haus und hof is an inspiring retreat. To arrive, and to gladly return, again and again.
